Vaccination Centre

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in 2019 we were all asked to work from home, keep socially distanced and not to mix.

This meant that the Larkhill Centre had to close. The NHS asked doctors & pharmacists to provide vaccination services.   Our village pharmacist, Usman Shafique, wanted to convert Larkhill into a vaccination centre and our committee were happy to assist Usman with this essential facility.

This meant setting up 4 vaccine cubicles in the main hall and one in the committee room.

At the height of the pandemic the Centre was open 7 days a week to meet the demand for vaccinations.

Larkhill Centre was one of the busiest vaccination centres in whole northwest. That demonstrates communities working together can make the difference.
